John Mikel Obi, the former captain of the Super Eagles, has been appointed as a Youth Ambassador to encourage young Nigerians to strive for excellence. The meeting, which took place on Friday, June 18 at the NOC secretariat at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, is another of the Minister’s initiatives aimed at fostering a dynamic young for national development.
Mikel’s ambition, as well as the vision for sports development in the country, will be supported by the minister, who also assured the Stoke City midfielder of the Federal Government’s unwavering support if he decides to invest in the country.
