Akinleye, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Cambodia, met with Cambodia authorities at the Ministry of Labour yesterday morning.
The Cambodian and Nigerian representatives have agreed to exchange visits in the field of employment and vocational training for ministers and technical officials.
The agreement was made during a working meeting between Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, and Folakemi I. Akinleye, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Cambodia, at the Ministry of Labour yesterday morning.
During the meeting, the two sides expressed satisfaction and commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation and appreciated past relations. They agreed to visit each other to exchange experiences in the field of employment and vocation training at both ministerial and technical levels in the future.
Minister Samheng expressed that he was pleased to meet with the Ambassador to discuss the employment and vocational training between the two countries.
Ambassador Akinleye emphasized that she would like to fulfill her mission as Ambassador to Cambodia in order to strengthen the cooperation and friendship. She also noted the presence of numerous high-rise buildings in Phnom Penh, an indicator that Cambodia’s economic activity is growing.
Cambodia has implemented a policy of linking international trade with working conditions through the ILO-BFC project, the Appropriate Workplace in Cambodia program, the social program, and the labour standards of the garment and textile sector in Asia, and the Global Agreement Initiative.
